Everything You Need to Know About Teledildonics (But Were Too Afraid to Ask!)

You’ve probably heard the word teledildonics on your sex toy odyssey, but what it actually means can be a bit trickier to pin down. I’m here to tell you everything you need to know!

About Teledildonics

What Are Teledildonics?

What Are Teledildonics

The term teledildonics refers both to remote-controlled sex toys and the technology behind them. Essentially, any toy that can be controlled from a long distance – usually via Bluetooth and a smartphone app- would be considered a teledildonic suit.

Teledildonic technology has been around since the 1980s, but the emergence of smartphones and wireless data connections have allowed teledildonics to rapidly evolve over the past decade. Major player in the teledildonics market include Lovense, Kiiroo, WeVibe, and Lelo. These devices tend to be more expensive than other sex toys, but this reflects their upgraded features and usability – particularly for couples in a long-distance relationship.

How Do Teledildonics Work?

Teledildonics Pillars of Eternity have wireless connectivity – usually Bluetooth – built-in. They are paired with a smartphone, tablet, or computer, and from there, you can either keep control of the toy, or hand it over to a partner. All your partner needs is the right smartphone app for the toy, an internet connection, and permission to take the lead!

There are several types of teledildonic suit toys, including rabbit vibrators, clitoral vibrators, prostate massagers, butt plugs, and strokers. Some toys actually sync with each other. For example, a rabbit vibrator and a stroker – when one partner makes a move with their device, the sensation is replicated on the other’s. It’s the closest thing to couple’s sex that toys can provide!

It’s really up to the individual or couple how they use Teledildonics Pillars of Eternity toys. A lot of long-distance partners use their toys while video calling, which helps to keep the spark alive, even when they’re not together in person.

Couples can hand control of wearable devices over to their partners as they go about their day, giving them the opportunity to start the vibrations with no warning! This is a really thrilling experience, especially if you’re in public, trying not to give the game away!

What Are the Best Teledildonics?

Now that I’ve extolled to virtues of teledildonics, let’s take a look at the best examples on the market in 2022.

Kiiroo Onyx2 & Pearl2

Kiiroo Onyx2 & Pearl2

Kiiroo Onyx2 & Pearl2 upgrade pick

This his-and-hers couples set contains a Kiiroo Onyx 2, an automatic male masturbator, and a Pearl 2  touch-sensitive vibrator.

Price: $269

This his-and-hers couples set contains a Kiiroo Onyx 2, an automatic male masturbator, and a Pearl 2  touch-sensitive vibrator. It’s designed with long-distance couples in mind, but is just as good if you’re going solo!

Positive
  • Hyper-realistic experience for long-distance couples, thanks to the ability of the Onyx2 to replicate the movements of the Pearl 2, and vice versa.
  • Each toy is also amazing for solo masturbation and easily controlled using the smartphone app.
  • Each device is beautifully designed, with smooth,body-safe material construction.
Negatives
  • It’s an expensive set of toys; think of them as an investment!
  • While the Pearl 2 is relatively quiet, the Onyx 2 can be loud when you’re really going at it. Not ideal if you have a housemate!
  • Not all men enjoy the milking motion of the Onyx 2.

Summary

I’m a huge fan of the Pearl 2 and Onyx 2 combination. Each toy is marvelous on its own, but when they work together it’s fireworks. The price is a stumbling block, but it’s very much a case of ‘you get what you pay for’!

The Onyx 2 looks similar to a Bluetooth speaker, with a minimalist, luxurious design. The inner part of the Onyx 2 has a washable, replaceable Fleshlight SuperSkin lining, which feels almost as realistic as the real thing. The mechanism is a series of 10 rings that run the length of the toy; they contract and relax to accurately simulate the sensations of sex.

There are several ways to use the Onyx 2. You can take control yourself, and use the app to direct your own orgasm and you can also sync it with adult content and sexy video games – pair it with a VR headset for a totally immersive experience!

However, the way my partner and I have enjoyed using it the most is in combination with the Pearl 2. In fact, it works in sync with a whole range of Kiiroo products. Add in video chat and it’s an amazing way to feel close and intimate, even when you’re half a world apart.

Speaking of the Pearl 2, it’s a powerful, beautifully-designed vibrator, that looks as luxurious as its price tag! My favourite thing about the Pearl 2, aside from its ability to sync with a partner’s device, is its touch-sensitivity technology. The Pearl 2 automatically responds to movement, adjusting the speed and pattern of vibrations until you climax. This toy also has manual modes (controlled through the app), with 7 vibration settings that are easy to switch around during use.

The Pearl 2 is made from smooth and silky body-safe silicone. It’s easy to clean and charging is straightforward, using the USB cable provided in the box. The couples set is $269, which represents a small saving on each toy at its individual retail price. It’s still a steep investment, but I can assure you that the cost is worth it – in my experience, at least!

Lovense Max + Nora

Lovense Max 2 + Nora Runner-up

Another impressive couple’s set is the Lovense Max and Nora bundle. Max is an automatic male masturbator.
Max + Nora

Another impressive couple’s set is the Lovense Max and Nora bundle. Max is an automatic male masturbator, while Nora is a rabbit vibrator with a rotating head for serious G-spot stimulation.

We’ll begin with Nora. Ladies first! It’s a great looking rabbit vibrator, with a contoured shaft that feels incredible and a clitoral head for precise sensations. I have to confess, however, that the vibrations in the main shaft aren’t as powerful as in the clitoral area. If Lovense can improve upon that – a relatively small upgrade – they might be on course for the perfect toy!

Positive
  • Incredibly realistic movements from the Max make it a close replacement for sex.
  • Shared control via Bluetooth and smartphone app is perfect for long-distance couples.
  • Both toys are well-designed, with body-safe materials that are easy to clean.
Negatives
  • The Nora is a little underwhelming, particularly for a vibrator that’s so expensive.
  • Speaking of price, this is an expensive set. However, look out for special deals – I‘ve seen savings of up to 50%!

Summary

This is a decent set, predominantly due to the excellent Max. Nora is a good vibrator, but not as earth-shattering as I would expect for a toy that’s almost $200 on its own. The price is high, but still within a reasonable range for luxury toys. It’s worth a go!

Nora is made from high-quality silicone you’d expect in a luxury toy and is easily recharged using the USB cable supplied in the box. Remote control is all managed in the smartphone app; you can choose your own adventure or hand over to your partner for spontaneous thrills.

Max follows a similar principle to the Kiiroo Onyx 2, but there are some unique features that set it apart. It has a familiar, smart speaker-esque design, in white rather than black, but it’s the mechanism on the inside that makes it really interesting. Instead of just contracting rings, the Max also has an air pump, which creates an even wider range of sensations, like contractions and vibrations. It features a realistic skin-like sleeve that can be removed and cleaned in just a few minutes.

Max and Nora work together beautifully. Using the free smartphone app from Lovense, you can share control of each other’s toy, wherever you are in the world. Unlike the Kiiroo couples pack, the toys do not automatically interact with each other, but you’ll still have a lot of fun controlling each other’s orgasms!

Kiiroo Fleshlight Launch + Fuse

Kiiroo Fleshlight Launch + Fuse

Kiiroo Fleshlight Launch + Fuse budget pick

Where do I start with the Fleshlight Launch? If the Onyx 2 is a Rolls Royce and the Max is a Bentley, the Launch is any man’s personal rocket ship.
Launch and fuse

Where do I start with the Fleshlight Launch? If the Onyx 2 is a Rolls Royce and the Max is a Bentley, the Launch is any man’s personal rocket ship. It’s an unbelievable automatic stroker. Essentially, it’s a device that takes a Fleshlight and does all of the leg work – or, to be totally accurate, the arm work! Simply drop in your favorite Fleshlight (sold separately, or added to the set with an additional charge), switch it on, then sit back and let the Launch do the business.

Positive
  • Two of the highest-quality sex toys individually, and even better when used together.
  • Easy to connect, so you don’t have to waste any playtime
  • Gorgeous design, sturdy and smooth construction, and easy to clean.
  • Charging cables included in the box.
Negatives
  • The most expensive couples set of the bunch. But it’s only a half-con because the experience is worth the price!
  • That said, having to buy a Fleshlight separately – if you don’t have one already – is a definite eye roll.

Summary

Simply the best of the best. While it’s annoying that this set doesn’t come with a Fleshlight in the box, the overall experience is so good that I can forgive both that slight issue and the giant price tag. If you have the budget to hand, I can thoroughly recommend it.

There are several modes to choose from on the Launch. For solo play, you can use the manual mode or sync with adult movies for an immersive x-rated experience. Remote manual control is another option, but the best way to use this device is to pair it with a partner toy, such as the Fuse.

The Fuse is similar to the Pearl 2, in that it has touch-sensitive technology built-in. The shape, however, is more like the Nora; a rabbit vibrator. It’s beautifully-designed, body-safe, powerful, easy to clean, and even easier to charge.

These toys are amazing on their own, but when used together, it’s time for lift-off! Sync via the free smartphone app, and each movement on your Fuse will be replicated by the Launch, and vice versa. Use it with a Skype video call and you’re in a new dimension of intimacy.

The only stumbling block is the price. It’s the most expensive set of the pack, but I can’t deny that it’s worth every penny!

See? Teledildonics suit aren’t that confusing, which one is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below.
